More than any other time in my lifetime, the "other side" is so completely and objectively full of shit that the "chasm" is unavoidable.

One woman on my Twitter feed was criticizing a prominent tweerer for blasting Trump and said he needs to stop.

I looked at her Tweets and she was often critical of Obama. But she said that was after he took office and people should give Trump a chance.

    Sigh.

Hey, I'm on your side with that one. It angers me just to see the man's face on my TV screen.

Really? We must travel in different circles.

Even here, we've seen weekly, if not daily, posts about how it's "time to unite for the good of the country," or lamenting the loss of "civility."

Mike Pence was just whining about it yesterday.

    Bullshit on that shit.

The majority of the country wants Fucko out of there from Day One.

I think this is the guy who is really 50, not 30. There was a thread about him.

I remember realizing at about age 13 or 14 that Donald Trump was not actually a wheelin', dealin', richer-than-fuck business machine, but kind of a joke, kind of the business Jake LaMotta by that point. It was like finding out there was no Santa Claus. Honestly. It kind of sucked.

If his election has shown nothing else, it is that a significant percentage of the country - almost exclusively the dumb people - never stopped buying that fairy tale.

It's depressing to see them cling to it. And I live in an area that he ransacked with his casino and beauty pageant shams.

There's a lot of things over the last two months that have upset me, but this is the thing that's angered me most. That's not how this works. Trump bears the responsibility over the next months to prove he's worthy of our support. He has the chance to prove he's better than the late-night Twitter wars, the temperament of a toddler, the trolling. My support isn't built into the oath of office.

I feel you on Donald Trump. But I may dislike Mike Pence even more. I cannot stand that pained concern expression he's always putting out there.

    Very well said.
