    Didn't Reagan call Nancy "mommy?"

I'm afraid to re-read "The Plot Against America" right now.

In Pence and Reagan's defense, it's probably pretty easy to get used to calling your spouse something such as mommy or mother while teaching your children to talk. My father-in-law routinely calls his wife "Mimi" and she calls him "Pop" simply because that's what their grandchildren call them. They don't do it all the time, but probably more than half the time, particularly when the grandkids are around.

I'm not going to dive too deep into this, other than to say if that's the worst thing they can muster on Mike Pence -- and it isn't -- they might as well give it up.

My grandparents referred to each other as "mum" and "dad" until their dying days. And my grandfather thought Reagan was a no good sonofabitch. I know because he screamed it at the nightly news damn near daily.

The "mother" thing is fairly common with older generations. Guessing Pence picked that up from his father.

I've been calling my wife "Momma" and she's been calling me "Dad" for 20+ years, and even though the chicks are about out of the nest, it ain't easy breaking that habit.
