DNC Chair Candidate: My Job Is To Tell White People When To Shut Their Mouths

The DNC held a forum for candidates hoping to become chairman of the Democratic National Committee on Monday at George Washington University. One candidate, Sally Boynton Brown, the executive director of Idaho's Democratic Party, urged Democrats to provide "training" to teach people to be "sensitive" and "how to shut their mouths if they are white."

Ms. Brown has the same odds of winning the job as the Cleveland Browns have of winning Super Bowl LII

There are Republicans on my Facebook feed doing a touchdown dance over the notion that Trump may be union-friendly. These are strange days.

I am pretty sure the 1983 act raised the age.

    Yeah BTE mentioned it.

But you still can get early benefits at 62 and regular benefits at 67, right? That's in an environment when the average life span is 78. I know that's skewed by early deaths and that the average life span of a person who reaches adulthood is closer. But still, you're talking about a lot more people drawing SS for 20 or even 30 years than when the program was conceived.

If you work until 72 your benefit is greatly enhanced. But by the time I turn 72 I expect SS to be long gone.

I'm kind of curious what the mood was when it was first enacted.

"OK, you're going to take money out of our paychecks until we turn 65. But on average we're only living to 61.7."

How the fuck did that ever pass? And no wonder it did so well for so long.

Average life span is affected by both ends of life. The much higher death rate at childbirth, infancy and early childhood back then accounts for much of the shorter span. There were plenty of old folks in 1936.

I am taking my motherfucking money at 62. Just for this reason.

And how about skipping the COLA for the goddamn SS moochers sucking off the teat now?
