I said repeatedly when congress ceded more power to Obama that folks would eventually regret it when we had a republican president. Who knew it would be so soon, and that it would be someone like Trump?

 

A reminder that seven years ago almost to the day Obama signed executive order closing Gitmo. Still there. Congress and the courts have a say and will use it. It will be interesting the first time a court rules against President Trump.

On a lighter note, David Frum, former Bush guy who writes for the Atlantic, just posted a thread on twitter in which he said that back in the Clinton years, he had a fellow parent at his kid's school who was a senior administrator for NASA. The NASA man's chief cross to bear was that when he went to parties or school functions, somebody invariably bent his ear with Area 51 conspiracies. He finally came up with the perfect answer: "Congress just cut our budget by half a billion bucks. You think we'd stand for that if we had a dozen space aliens on ice in a freezer somewhere?"

 

If Trump want to investigate voter fraud - which he said includes people registered to vote in two states - then he can start inside the White House.
