This order will wind up in court quite quickly. Similar efforts to withhold funding have been struck down, others upheld. It would be interesting if residents of those cities responded by mass refusal to pay taxes, which obviously will never occur. Americans of all ideologies just aren't that organized.
I wonder if Mexico will ever respond by chucking out the significant number of older Americans who retired there because it's cheaper.

From what I've read, without rewriting existing laws, the funding that will likely be withheld is from Justice and Homeland Security, which, coincidentally, mostly gets used by local law enforcement.

There are thousands of them who simply bought houses and moved. No biggie for either country until now. What Mexico more likely will do is sign a bunch of trade agreements with China, get foreign aid from China, etc.

Mayor Marty Walsh of Boston said Boston will ignore Trump signing. Remember, these aren't even yet executive orders, they are memos to get it together for future orders. PS: Trump says intelligence officers told him "torture absolutely works." Either it's a lie (likely) or he should be asked to provide their names, as they are advocating breaking current law.

Add Treasury Secretary designate Steve Mnuchin and Tiffany Trump to those close to Trump registered to vote in two states. This is not to criticize them for that, just to show how common and innocently mundane such dual registrations are.

Expanding the government, eh. I guess that Federal hiring freeze won't last long or does this fall under the military and law enforcement exemption?

That alone isn't breaking the law. In the immortal words of Buford T. Justice "You can think about it, but don't do it."

Hmm, Gen. Mattis disagrees. Of course, he's just a military lifer and not a reality TV star - so WTF does he know about how to get info from our enemies?
