Wow. Terrible job by David Muir (who I generally like). May as well have had Billy Bush conducting this interview.

The various comedy roasts of Trump show him laughing quite a bit, with the exception of the 2011 WH Correspondents Dinner. That 2011 event caused all this, so... blame Obama.

 

All of this is perfectly normal and has happened before under Democrats.

Our wonderful new world in which "fake" accounts are the ones dealing in actual facts. Not even Orwell imagined the plot twists one week into this nightmare.

 

Why do you say that? I didn't watch it on TV, but I read the entire transcript, and Muir pretty much kept his focus and asked the probing questions he wanted to ask despite having to wade through Trump's usual pattern of misdirections, alternate facts, ignorant sidesteps, flat-out lies and constant boasts about himself and the wonderful job he's doing.

What more did you expect Muir to do? He covered most of the current issues and got Trump's answers documented for the record, and now we all go from there. Muir couldn't very well scream at a difficult sitting president in his first one-on-one interview, but he kept pressing and didn't allow himself to get distracted. Had to be hard to not say, "What the fuck you talking about?" to Trump at various points there.

 

It's January 26 and Crooked Hillary isn't in jail yet. Welcher.

 

But she is in hell with the rest of us.
