Looks like Melo is leaving NY; even if the Clips get him, he doesn't appear to me to be the answer for them. He can score but tepid D at best. He's an upgrade over their current SFs but he's not going to get Griffin to play better D or get tough rebounds.

Nets are shitty and all, but they are catching 17 from the Cavs tonight, who haven't won by more than 15 since two days before Christmas ... against the Nets in a 119-99 victory.

No Brook Lopez for the Nets, but I'm still taking the 17.

I'll believe it when I see it. Unless they find a third team, the only deal that really works with the Clippers is Jamal Crawford and Austin Rivers for Carmelo. I don't see any compelling reason why either team would make that deal, but it particularly doesn't make sense for the Knicks (unless they just want Carmelo off the roster at any cost).

Carmelo has a full no-trade and doesn't particularly want to leave. It makes a deal pretty damn hard.

So much fun to watch. His block from behind of the Harden two-handed dunk was spectacular.

So you don't think Lebron had anything to do with the Cavs signing a washed up and broken down 38-year old Birdman Andersen this year? And the James Jones thing really does deserve extra mention as an exceptionally glaring example of roster cronyism--the guy has been functionally finished for at least three or four years now, yet he's still got his roster spot as Lebron's buddy.

As Lebron's bitching about the Cavs not spending more on new help, he might consider the fact that a good chunk of the team's available salary space this season is being paid to Jones and Andersen to do nothing.

A good chunk of the team's available salary cap? Both Jones and Andersen are making the vet's minimum. And not for nothing, Andersen is doing nothing because he tore his ACL.

And maybe I'm wrong, but I have a hard time imagining LeBron went to the front office and said "You HAVE to sign my boy Chris 'Birdman' Andersen."

Butler shot 1 for 13. Think he tanked it?

James is a pain in the ass but if James does not sign with the Cavs Kevin Love does not come to Cleveland. Can a team with Andrew Wiggins win 50 games, much less a championship? If anyone is unhappy with LeBron they should go meditate with the championship banner as a backdrop.

I'm still giggling because of Melo's "tepid" D.
"tepid" isn't the answer. Non-existent is.

Maybe he can get traded back to Syracuse where he can hide in the zone
