So, why do so few Muslims in America and Western Europe wear them? Why were they rare in Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, etc. as recently as the 1970's?

Why do women take them off in areas that are liberated from ISIS and/or the Taliban?

The burqa is simply a form of subjugation, misogyny, and paternity.

 

I imagine it's been a very socially awkward day for US forces who're "advising" the Iraqi army in Mosul, and for the special forces with the Kurds in Syria and in Somalia.

Well, if one lady from a think tank says it without any supporting evidence, it must be true!

 

Reports out there DHS and Justice were not consulted about this ban - which would be normal protocol.

 

There was a story that an unnamed "senior administration official" said they'd been working for weeks with DHS on this. The story sort of went away when it was noted Trump's been in office one week.

 

Why shouldn't we accommodate "female circumcision"? We allow male circumcision.Who are you to say one is a greater form of mutilation than the other? Why do you want to impose your values on people who want to practice their cultural traditions?

Alternately, should we keep out those whose custom it is to perform such a procedure on their daughters?

If not, why not? Should we just assume they will follow the law, and give up their heritage?

 

So, why are there no Christians in these camps -- which is where you need to go if you want to seek refugee status?
