That's very sad. Missouri basketball used to be respectable and then some. But as an old fart, I'm probably remembering Norm Stewart. I know how it goes. In the '80s-'90s and early 2000s, I covered BC basketball. That used to be a thing, even competing with Larry Bird.

That school ought to manage 18 wins and an NIT bid with the janitor coaching. Instead it is losing out on borderline 3-stars to dogass Saint Louis.

Time for the obligatory Gonzaga comment. First and foremost, despite what crazed local denizens think, the Zags are NOT the No. 1 team in the country, regardless of unbeaten record or how the AP vote goes down. Gotta be Kansas after today's victory over UK.

A tough nonconference schedule is great in December, but for two months before the NCAA tourney, Gonzaga faces teams like Pepperdine and San Diego. Not exactly the tough schedule of, say, Florida State.

That being said ... if GU can kick it up a notch after sleepwalking through the West Coast Conference tourney, this could be Few's most talented team. He's mixed in some transfers with the usual strong batch of recruits, and their defense is better than previous years.

A couple of years ago, they destroyed a good Iowa team in the tournament, and I thought they were in great shape. Then they lost to Duke. Last year I expected little because they barely made the tourney.

Believe me (as an Iowa alumnus) I remember that game. Didn't hurt GU that it was in Seattle. And yeah, after they handled UCLA to finally return to the Elite 8, I thought they had a shot at Duke. Just ran out of gas against a deeper (and better) team.

Is Shaka going to be out at Texas? What would his options be if he was? My pipe dream is to get him to Columbia next season.

I would think Shaka gets more time. If I was a Mizzou fan, I think my pipe dream would be snatching up Hoiberg when the Bulls thing fully goes tits up. I don't think they'd be able to get him though.

I know I say this a lot, but the refs in this UVA game are truly awful. London Perrantes is getting mugged every time he touches the ball.

There is one element of sports that LOVES Kim Anderson coaching Mizzou.

    Gamblers.

Always put Mizzou's opponent at the end of a money line bet.

Let's say you have a $50 four-team parlay but the first three games end before Mizzou plays. If you win the first three, you're pretty much guaranteed the fourth. Then you bet $10 on Mizzou to win the game (usually at 7-1 or 8-1. Last night was 7-1 against Cocks) as a hedge. Win either way because Mizzou is the most predictable outcome in all of college basketball:

Mizzou usually covers the first half of games but always loses the game itself. At home they may cover the spread but they almost never do on the road.

    I'll miss Kim Anderson.

On a final note, gamblers can do REALLY well this year on college basketball playing underdogs to win games straight up. Not enough dominant teams and so many favorites come out flat. Yesterday was a bonanza. Ga Tech, Colorado, Tennessee, Miami, Syracuse, George Mason.

Upsets that were uncommon twenty years ago happen with regularity now but the public loves the favorites.

I know they were looking at the clock, but is basket interference reviewable in that situation?

It wasn't basket interference. The robbery was in the foul discrepancy and the ticky-tack shit Nova got all game.
