I'm speaking more based on my view of Barkley's entire commentating career. He is an overrated commentator who gets by because he talks about 1993, when he almost beat Jordan and players weren't pussies. He tears down people like LeBron and Durant to bolster his own legacy. I applaud LeBron for pushing back.

Barkley is the best thing about regular-season NBA and often the only thing worth watching.

If LeBron is that pissed, Barkley must be onto something.

Does the media know what being a professional is or is it just for players we perceived to be professional.

Charles is a fine entertainer as a commentator, but in truth, I don't believe he could name as many current NBA players as I can, and there are whole teams, like the Magic, where I'd draw a blank. He coasts on being entertaining. I compare him to Terry Bradshaw, but Charles really IS entertaining.

Bart Hubbach probably has a better idea of it.

They have a game on Inside the NBA called (I believe) "Who He Play For?" where the others name five end of the bench guys and Barkley has to, well, name who he play for. It never goes well.

One little side story I'm enjoying is the recent resurgence of the Mavs. They appeared headed toward a disastrously awful season, but then Carlisle switches to this super-small lineup--starting three small guards, Barnes at PF, and Dirk at center--and they've been rolling since. Have won 7 of the their last 10, with back to back wins over the Spurs and Cavs ...with a starting backcourt of Yogi Ferrell and Seth Curry.

It's been noted before, but that Carlisle guy can coach. Every season he squeezes out more wins than his talent level warrants. They'll still have a losing record this year, but it won't be nearly as bad as it should be with that motley roster.
