No idea where you're going with this.

Larsen was one of the people on Skype in the briefing. I'd never heard of him.

The Skype thing is a great tool for that setting. Pick the people you want on and know they will feed you questions you want to move your agenda forward.

@typefitter, you found it so upsetting to lose a message board argument that you retreated to a special safe place populated solely by worshippers and sycophants.

The current system means you need to hold the Senate if you want to get your picks confirmed.

Go take a look at when this changed.

Take a look at RBG's vote. Take a look at Bork and Thomas.

The Dems forced this situation, and they did it at the worst possible time for themselves.

We've suffered through guys like Souter and Kennedy because we went with guys who could get confirmed.

Fuck that. You want to play hardball? Then you get Alito, Roberts, and Gorsuch.

Republicans didn't just fail to "confirm" Garland, instead they wholesale refused to do their jobs--refusing to even allow hearings or a vote--for nearly a fuckin year. If they'd have at least followed the confirmation process but denied him on the votes that'd be one thing. But entirely refusing to do their job is something quite different.

It was beyond outrageous. Garland was an eminently qualified and perfectly reasonable selection who should now occupy that ninth seat. And, yeah, it does gall the shit outta me to think Dems are now gonna respond by bending over and allowing Trump to put his guy in that spot without a fight.

SJ Style Guide requires the use of "one-handed typing" instead of the more vulgar phrase you used.

Have to look long-term on this.

This fight isn't the one to take on.
