And that Phil interview was pretty darn interesting. Well worth a listen.

As for Tiger, maybe he needs to just play in those lower-lower-lower level events in Florida that are just one day. He seems capable of completing 18 holes from time to time, so why not just focus on that for a while. [/onlyslightsarcasmfont]

I used to cover those events when I worked at a very rural Florida paper. Talk about a fountain of stories. You'd have young kids just starting out, trying to make it (Ben Crane won one event I covered); old guys hanging on because they just can't envision a life in the shop selling golf shoes, even though that money would be far steadier; then guys who can barely break 90 but are still allowed to play because, well, their entry fees are needed.

Watching Phoenix Open coverage.......Duval mentions that there needs to be more holes like the 16th......NO NO NO NO NO.
This is a big part of what makes it so cool. This is the only one and nothing else is even remotely close.

I agree. The Players is its own thing, but what other par threes could take such a staging without it looking completely phony?

Woods looks like he's walking poorly. Hard to imagine him contending again, or even playing much more.

Unless the back spasms were really "I'm 11 shots off the lead and a sand storm is hitting during my second round."

I'm not saying that there wasn't an injury, but shooting a brain-cramping 77 in easy conditions sure didn't make it any better.

At this point, he won't be able to hit the ceremonial tee shot at Augusta in two months.

He's finished. Give it up and enjoy your $billion $half billion, Tiger.

Rest for 3-6 months, play one underwhelming event, WD from the next with an injury, rinse and repeat.

I feel bad (relatively speaking) for the media that have to ride that roller coaster with him. How many went to Dubai to watch Tiger play one round and WD?

Gotta roll through the good times and the bad. And the good times were great.
