Saddest Song of 70s??

This one is horrible on several levels. One, the sappiness quotient is over the top. Even Barry Manilow would have been embarrassed. Two, it's David Soul. Three, it sounds like the master tape got stretched and they just said, "F-it."

I'm disappointed in myself that this is the first time I've heard/seen that joke.

You know why you liked those songs in the '70s? Because to a adolescent that meant........SLOW DANCE!!!

    'When the Levee Breaks'

Because when the levee breaks, you got no place to stay.

But he gave them a happy ending with "Sequel."

I bought it and "The Singles" on CD at roughly the same time. The tribute disc got a lot more play.

Sweet lord, the Karen Carpenter jokes... The only thing that would make me happier right now is Denis Leary's "Asshole," and I saw that in another thread.

Confession: I was with a car full of people driving back from a forensics tournament gone horribly wrong. That Dan Hill song came on the radio and all five of us got the giggles and couldn't stop. We were pulled over by one of Nashville's finest and I had to touch my nose and walk the line on the shoulder of the road. The cop must have thought Chevy Vegas had some kind of super ventilation system. He kept sniffing inside the car and seemed disappointed he couldn't smell anything.

You told the cop it was the Dan Hill song, right?

That should have been enough. What can I say? It was the seventies.

One of the saddest songs of the 1970s while also being one of the scariest songs. They're here!
