by their very nature make a small number of people "rich" - thus justifying the lottery - at the expense of many who get nothing.

 

Well, sure, they're not all "in on the plan."

Wealthy people tend to live in school districts that have a high property tax levy and well adjusted, well fed, well prepared wealthy kids.

And charter schools will indeed help some students - often very good ones. It's not wicked, per se. But the endgame, IMO, is a permanent education underclass and a glut of shitty storefront Christian schools that Range from excellent to "holy shit what are you learning in here?"

 

By selecting so few, they can create ripe fruit through intensive teaching and in some cases immersion then present the data of how well some charter school methods work.

You can't immerse 2,000 students without a holy shitload of money.

 

We're forgetting the big picture, folks. More money to the privates and charters is gonna mean more phone calls complaining about Podunk Catholic and Podunk Central Academy recruiting athletes.

 

How much per student is a holy shitload of money?

 

And "how come you ain't doing write-ups about Podunk Central doing illegal recruiting and offering discounted tuition to athletes!?!"
