Who knows how many titles they'd'a'won but I don't think too many right-thinking people would take John Wall over Isiah Thomas.

Thomas was a three-time first teamer (83-84, 84-85, 85-86) and a two-time second-teamer (82-83 and 86-87). He was behind Magic and Moncrief the first time and Magic and Jordan the second time

Isiah Thomas was an all-time great player, possibly the greatest pure point guard ever. He was certainly a better overall point guard than Magic Johnson, who was close to worthless as a defensive player and got lit up any time he was forced to guard guards.

Isiah Thomas reached his prime a
couple years before the Pistons as a team did. By the time of the Bad Boys championships, he was slipping slightly and was no longer the best guard on his team -- Dumars was.

Here are the all-nba guards the last five years
2015-16 Curry and Westbrook / Paul and Lillard / Lowry and Thompson
2014-15 Curry and Harden / Paul and Westbrook / Irving and Thompson
2013-14 Harden and Paul / Curry and Parker / Lillard and Dragic
2012-13 Kobe and Paul / Parker and Westbrook / Harden and Wade
2011-12 Kobe and Paul / Parker and Westbrook / Wade and Rondo

That's 30 spots. 26 of them are taken by Hall of Famers. Rondo, Dragic and Lowry are the only ones who won't make it and Lillard's at least on track

It's a shame about Rondo. Fucker could've been one of the greatest ever. His crazy head got in the way.

I don't know - Without playing as if the world was against him at all times, does he reach the level he did? Maybe it effected his offensive development and the refinement of skills like free throw shooting, but at his best, he was the kind of guy that people wanted no part of.

Let me clarify: I'm not saying he wasn't a star, he was. But was he better than Stockton? Sometimes I hear people refer to the pre-Jordan era as the Magic-Bird-Isaiah era which is nuts. I'm also skeptical about how much he sacrificed anything for anyone other than himself. He was always pretty good at self promotion. The Miller comparison is that they were both great players whose legacies are inflated by transcendent moments in the playoffs. I'm going to assume that the race remark was a joke. One last heresy and then a disclaimer:
    - Dumars was no less valuable to the championship teams.
    - Full disclosure: I've always hated Thomas as a player; way before he single handedly nuked the Knicks. Schilling dreams of being this big a phony.
