Of course you're right in the second sentence, and as I said, Magic has a case, a good case.

The reason I put Magic first, and usually put LeBron ahead of MJ lately, is because they both did everything they could do, as well as everything everyone else on the list could do.

Magic, Jordan, Bird, LeBron, Kobe and I don't care about the 5 you put on to complete the top 10.

Wilt was my childhood hero. When somebody else averages 50 points and 25 rebounds a game for a season, or leads the league in assists just to show the world he could, get back to me. IMO had Walton stayed healthy, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Still the greatest college player I've ever seen.

This is one of the top 5 insane things ever posted here.

When Magic was playing power forward, who was the point guard - Rambis, Worthy, Kareem or Byron?

Don't even get me started on Allen Iverson's place in history.

Kobe was a great player, but I'm not 100% sure he's a top 5 all-time Laker, let alone top 5 NBA. At best he's the 4th best Laker all-time.

My NBA top 5, in some order: Wilt, Jordan, Kareem, Magic, LeBron.

On a side note: it's weird to me how upset people can get if you suggest Jordan is not beyond question as the greatest player in history. He was great. You can make a hell of a case for him at number one. If I absolutely had to vote, I might very well put him at number one. Then again... I could make an argument for all 4 other guys in my top 5 being ahead or him.

But seriously, I suggested to my son that MJ may not be the best ever and he acted like I just took a shit on a bible. He's 19. He was 6 years old when Jordan retired from the Wizards.
