Good grief. I know photo shop when I see it. I wish I knew HOW to do it -- I'd love to make me look like a glam queen in some photos, but alas, I'm clueless. And also working with a broken I-4.
I do know several prominent sports personalities who routinely use photoshop masterfully. In person, they look nothing like their snapchat or instagram photos (skinnier, mostly, but also blemish free). It's an art. You don't need to be a forensic scientist to tell when they do it, and you sure don't need to be one when you see the president's gut disappear.
