You might have noticed that Trump didn't lift sanctions on Russia.

If Flynn asked the Russian ambassador to not overreact to the new sanctions because the Trump administration would re-evaluate them, why is that bad, let alone illegal?

Well I appreciate that you're not disputing that it is illegal.

 

Because he was nothing more than a private citizen at that point and not authorized to speak on behalf of the current POTUS.

Well, Wikileaks, that unbiased dump of information, certainly seems to have a viewpoint in this matter.

 

He wasn't claiming to speak on behalf of POTUS. It doesn't appear that he made any promises other than to take a look at the entire issue.

Even the acting AG didn't think he did anything that could be prosecuted.

 

This does appear to be pretty serious.

Political scientist Seth Masket asks "what other person (besides Flynn) has been fired by presidents of two different parties?" That's a record they'll be shooting at for a long, long time.

 

Is it ironic that the stuff that Trump and friends have verifiably done since being elected are worse than the allegations and rumors wrung out about Hillary?
