I think of it as sass.

Sass? Better not give her this pill then.

She reminds me a little bit of Wanda Sykes.

between the depressing news and the unwatchable sports programming at dinner time, the tv in our house has been off more until after supper than ever in my life. We actually find ourselves reading more

Nothing against Jemele and Mike, but I've already seen yesterday's hilights. Already know about the trades or FA signings via contemporaneous news updates. There's no news or editorial value added on their show ( or any similar show) And they aren't witty enough to have entertaining banter. They have to fill the time with something, why not sports?

Charisma is an "it" quality. It's either there or not. As one who has done TV for 20 years, I just don't think Michael has it. A parallel for some of you might be whether someone can "write" or not. You all know it right away.

Michael may have more energy right now for the new show but, within a month, he will likely revert to the mean.

Jemele is decent to solid, although she has made on-air comments that would get just about anyone else fired.

She just has to carry the show, that's all. That's a burden after a while for a co-anchor.

I don't know how you could possibly not watch if you consider yourself a fan of sports.

Jemele does have some of that "it" factor. She's confident, willing to take chances. It's very hard to have two people like that work together...they step on each other, egos get in the way.

I'm not sure of Smith recognizes that and is willing to let her have more of the spotlight, or the producers see it in him and felt pairing them was a good mix.

Was 'The 6' on today? I swear I looked up and it was a regular SportsCenter after PTI.

Day off. They're getting ready to go live from Nawlins for the All Star Game.

I can't comment on your TV perception, because I know Mike. But he could "write" and it was obvious from his first days at the Globe.
