Derek Fisher might be interested though, since it would be easier to screw Matt Barnes' baby mama.

Barnes has enough problems going on right now....like finding a job.
That being said, Barnes looks like the kind of guy who wouldn't mind doing 10-20 for man 2, so if I'm Fish, I'd be kinda careful putting the biscuit in her basket.

Lakers promote Magic; Kupchak, Jim Buss out

    From last paragraph.

The Lakers also announced that they have parted ways with Lakers longtime publicist John Black, who was with the team for 27 seasons. Lakers chef operation officer Tim Harris will immediately search for Black's replacement, the Lakers noted in their statement.

Good Heavens guys. Do they not have guys that proof these before hitting send?

Well, they did. It was apparently John Black.

While it's good for the team to be done with Jim Buss, Magic hasn't proven to be any good with basketball outside of playing it.

I wonder if this is really a step forward.

I'm not really opposed to Buss and Kupchak losing their jobs - the former seemed incompetent at all times, and while the latter was the GM for the title runs, it's not tough to imagine that some change was needed at the top. But Magic Johnson? Especially after he said his first calls would be to Kobe and other guys from the Lakers' past? I kind of thought the Lakers were on a decent trajectory, with Walton as coach and focusing on the young guys, even if they seem like more of a collection of role players and fringe all-stars. Now I'm anticipating them making a wonderful, Thomas-as-GM-of-the-Knicks sort of move, or their version of the Brooklyn deal with the Celtics.

Or as Starman would say, Magic is no Isaiah.

Apparently not, if they hired someone just for your operation :)

So why do I see the Lakers going heavy free agent again? They seem committed to a long-term rebuild under Walton, but 1) Did anyone really think that would fly in LA, and 2) Perhaps they were committed to that, but after half a season, are realizing how truly awful they are w/o Kobe? And the last couple of years, they were plenty bad with him.

    I resemble that remark.
