Posted first to note an interesting viewpoint from a heavy (retired) hitter over the last few decades and second to ask how many GD Mc(Noun) officers we have in these armed forces? Is there a guy named McRib running the Air Force, too?

And then, all at once, Trump gains the power and popularity to do something about it.

You realize that Abrams was convicted -- and later pardoned -- for his role in the Iran-Contra affair.

I don't believe his hiring would have been universally lauded.

 

For example? (And, let's not go back to Lincoln.)

 

I did not say that Abrams would be universally lauded. I didn't say that he'd be my first (or fifth) choice. I said that he would be a solid and experienced person who could offer valuable insights to Tillerson.

That hire would be rather different than that of say, DeVos, Pruitt, or Rick Perry. I like the idea that he is competent and knowledgable.
