So a French historian who happens to be of Egyptian birth was on his way to a conference at Texas A&M and was detained at Houston airport and set to be sent back for no reason except his religion. A&M intervened to get him sprung. America's border police, who have always been the worst among us, are Trump's secret police, out of control and proud of it. When (if) power turns over, I hope they enjoy federal prison.

I have been through Customs enough to draw a demographic sample, and I never, ever, from my first trip abroad in 1965 until now, have encountered a Customs agent who wasn't a white man.

 

Hmmm, when I was in line for a Customs position in the 90s, everyone who interviewed me was either black or Hispanic.

I can't tell if you're running some kind of shtick, or you're just a miserable old goat.
