    This story that @doctorquant mentioned the other day has really blown up.

    I don't understand why, if he identifies as male, he agreed to wrestle females. I also don't understand how his hormone (testosterone) therapy didn't render him ineligible to wrestle females.

    It really does seem unfair to the other female wrestlers.

    Wrestling females was his only option ... Per UIL (the state athletics assiciation) rules his choice was to wrestle girls or not wrestle at all. The logical solution was to let him wrestle boys, but that would have required a waiver for testosterone. A total mess.

    At some point, you'd think the decision would be to not wrestle.

    It's impossible to put myself completely in his shoes, but I think that's what I'd decide. I can't imagine him not feeling as if his success was tainted.
