By that logic, we shouldn't be surprised if Indiana makes a Final Four run this year since they're a traditional big conference power, right? I mean, aside from the fact that they won't be in the tournament and all.

Kentucky doing well in the tournament is not an upset. Same for Michigan State, Syracuse and UConn. If you wish to think of it as such, think of it as 15-1 shot coming home, not a 30, 50 or 100-1 shot.

OK, but if teams like that are seeded in the 7-10 range annually doesn't that mean there are way more than 10 real contenders each season?

That's fair. But I think it speaks more to how random the seeds become after the one seeds are done.

    Shockers don't really work in a 69 scenario. Angle's all wrong. #hiyoooooooo

Actual question. In Brooklyn, who is the host school for the ACC tournament. Or do they just not have one?

Don't believe they've ever had a host school.

It's in Brooklyn for a couple of reasons. 1.) Throw Syracuse a bone.
2.) Give the Big East a little elbow to the ribs.

also, the transgender issue in NC, no? Or was that just the NCAA that pulled games, not the ACC tourney? It is a weird choice of venue, though. Tourney was in Greensboro in 2015, DC last year. At any rate, plenty of Duke and UNC fans in the NYC area.

It was scheduled for Brooklyn this year and next before the boycott. Right now it is supposed to be in Charlotte in 2019 and Greensboro in 2020.

It just seems like you might wind up with a lower tier full of the usual well-heeled superfans and upper tiers not full at all.
