The NBA coaches are telling everyone just how important they think the regular season is.

"I don't understand why we have to play 82 games just to eliminate the Knicks" -- Wilt Chamberlain on the eight-team NBA of the early '60s.

So the fans of the Spurs circled March 10 as the game to go to. Warriors coming to town and close in the standings. KD hurt and Kerr is sitting the rest of starting 5 at San Antonio. Sucks for Spurs fans who spent big money on a great regular season scheduled game. You've been Popoviched.

They're 1.5 games behind Golden State for home court advantage in the playoffs. If I'm a Spurs fan I'm thrilled to death with this news.

If I'm someone who bought tickets (likely at mega-prices), I'm pissed.

But I haven't been to an NBA game in more than 20 years. So I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

No Aldridge, either. Out indefinitely with a heart arrhythmia. That's a big deal.

Thrilled to look at the box score tomorrow. Not mildly interested in watching the game and totally pissed if I have tickets. Spurs fans though must be so much smarter than the W's coach. 1 1/2 games up and he sits 90% of his ppg

Westbrook has another triple-double, passes Wilt for second place. I know I'm the oldest basketball fart on this board, but when you pass Wilt, you did something.

And naturally, Abbot and Costello, er, Van Gundy and Jackson, play the "regular season is devalued" card.

Van Gundy is hot tonight -- about Iguodala's "dumb nigger" comments from last night, Andre Iguodala's race-related comments cause stir in locker room about the Warriors not making him available to talk to the ABC guys, and about a media that dismisses Iguodala's comments by saying he was only joking. Van Gundy is angry. I like him this way.
