For a moment. But the TrumpCare turd will be floating in the bowl for a long time.

 

If Trump were the star in a Disney Channel preteen comedy, he would change the subject from his unauthorized party (that the whole school attended) by setting the drapes on fire.

I was questioning the part that said, "To see them become evangelical was very hard."

The Southern Baptist Convention has always been evangelical.

 

Gotta say, I'm a bit confused. You can agree or disagree with her, like her or loath her, but there's no question Rachel Maddow is smart. Rhodes Scholar smart.

But my initial feeling is she got played by Trump. If anything, this small snippet of a complicated tax return is good for Trump.

She seems too smart to fall for a Trump trick.

Maybe this is the first step. Maddow has done a lot of good reporting on Trump/Russia ties. Maybe this was an attempt to change that subject.

Or maybe an attempt to change the story on TrumpCare or whatever Comey is going to
say about the "tapp" story tomorrow.

Perhaps this is a first step in a larger Trump tax story. If not? This was Geraldo and Capone's vault.

It's something valuable that they needed to take their time and do some reporting on, except they couldn't wait because that's how the world works now on permanent fast forward. But I wouldn't be surprised if some other outlet starts pulling at the string and comes up with better insights down the line.

 

True. Could be just a start. Also, all of the sudden, Trump CAN release a tax return that is, on the surface, favorable to him. So why can't he release more? Nothing is stopping him other than stuff to hide.

 

An off the wall question but does anyone know who owns the local church building in the Southern Baptist church, the congregation or some central governing body (like the Catholics)? Splits tend to happen more frequently in religious bodies where the congregation owns the building.

 

Yeah, he leaked them because it does him more good than harm to cherry pick a couple of pages that make him look relatively good. His stupid lowlife base is going to hear he made $150 million (so he really is rich!) and that he paid a lot ($36 million) in taxes. So it takes some of the heat off him on the tax front, plus it distracts from what he's actually doing. Would he rather have people talking about that or the 24 million people from whom he's trying to take away healthcare?
