He still wasn't played. He knew the possible motivations of the leaker and made a conscious decision to go public with the documents. Disagree with that decision if you want, but he wasn't played.

They absolutely should've gone public with what they had, but for maybe five minutes, not the whole damn show. You can make anything seem more important than it is if you bloviate about it for that long.

This was an A5 6-incher blasted across the top of the front page. But you still have to run it somewhere.

So all that suggests is that Johnston was willingly played because he got to pretend he is relevant on cable news. The end result is that this "news" revealed essentially nothing anyone is interested in finding out about and today the Trump administration is gloating about the result.

The administration gloats about everything, even things that literally never happened.

This particular news item isn't swaying anyone to anything.

Oh, thank goodness, Trump's EPA is going to strike down the plan to get an average of 54.5 mpg by 2025. The auto industry was struggling so much under such horrific constraints!

Not at all. As Creosote mentioned, it was information worthy of a wire service brief. The real story here was the attempt by the administration to take the heat off Trump on releasing tax returns and to push the healthcare legislation out of the news cycle. That's how it should have been handled by columnists and commentators like Johnston and Maddow.

It's important to never forget: The reason there is a Southern Baptist Church is because of southern baptist slave owners.

To their credit, in 1995 leadership voted to apologize for supporting slavery and segregation in the past. And after Charleston, they passed a resolution calling upon churches and members to quit flying the battle flag.

I sincerely doubt there was a church flying the Rebel flag.

Fucko is trolling the whole world.

Like most sniggering infantile adolescents, the most important thing for him in anything he does is how many people he can piss off.

He doesn't give a fuck about anything else.
