He had a pumpin' bass system though. Shook the ground under his SUV.

Take this for the full fanboi goggles it represents, but this is the turnaround day in Missouri basketball.

Recruiting in FB and MBB getting tougher at Cal, with the new academic requirements that state (I think) at least 80% have to have a 3.0 or better HS GPA. Some years that would have eliminated 75 percent of the FB recruiting class.

The other sports, no big deal, from my experience most Olympic-sport athletes easily meet that criteria. You have to have a great GPA to get into Cal, or any other UC school, for that matter.

Reports now say Mizzou is hiring Michael Porter Sr. as an assistant (as Washington did last year) and that Jr. never in fact signed the LOI, so he's free to go anywhere.

Jontay Porter, Michael's younger (and 6-10) brother, is also free to sign anywhere.

Apparently the younger brother, Class of 2018, is finishing HS early so they can go to college together next fall.

There's also a big man from East St. Louis who committed to Illinois -- which of course just fired its coach too, so the kid may be able to get out of that. If there's anyone who can resonate in East St. Louis, it's Cuonzo Martin.

Damn. Those would be the three best players in the program the minute they stepped on campus.

The difference between Kansas and Mizzou? KU used that maneuver to get two national championships. Mizzou got Julian and Lee Winfield.

Oh great. Get ready for the first NCAA game with scores in the 30s in 70 years, when Bennett plays against Wisconsin.

The NCAA should make new rules to render Bennett and his ilk obsolete.
