Eh, at least it was during a race, and not the usual late-night drunken crash. Mason's getting too old for that drinking-and-driving bit.

Also, good to see he and none of the other drivers were hurt.

Mason is 73 years old. I knew he was getting up there, but I didn't think 73 up there.

All the 60s/70s rockers are up there now.

Floyd got going in 1967; if Mason was 18 then ... do the math.

As it turns out, he was a few years older.

Hell, remember Steve Winwood was a teenage sensation with the Spencer Davis Group. He'll be 69 in three weeks.

Back to the car ... probably not a good idea for a senior citizen to take the wheel of a beast like that. Or any regular "citizen" -- I wouldn't want to try it.

I remember in my young and foolhardy early twenties, when I drove my Olds Omega around like a race car, my boss let me drive his Corvette. I went about 10 miles out on the freeway and stepped down on the gas.

Hollllly shit. I went from about 70 to 125 in about four seconds. (And it still wasn't floored.) I went about a mile (in 25 seconds or so) and decided I better back the fucker off to about 100.:eek:
