unless the consumer merely enjoys watching the games and has a rooting interest without directly imbursing the players or owners

Silver seems to be bending over backward to appease ESPN/ABC, putting too much emphasis on the games they televise. He's not getting the big picture of the grind that is the 82-game season, which includes travel.

Raptors doing the '76 White Sox thing tonight with belts on their shorts, or what looks like belts.

Good God. Devin Booker scores 70 points for the Suns in a 130-120 loss to the Celtics. 21-40 FG, 4-11 3FG, 24-26 FT.

    He's 20.

Booker is going to be a great, great player. Obviously he's already pretty damn good.

The list of people who have scored more in a game: Wilt, Kobe, David Thompson, Elgin Baylor, David Robinson. That's it.

What might be more astounding: He had only 19 at halftime. A 51-point second half.

There is some weird vandalism going on at his Wikipedia page.

His father, Donald Trump, played for three different teams in the NBA

Booker is the son of Larry Bird and Melvin Booker,

Minutes ago, Trump was Ed Evangelists.

Covered Booker in high school. Saw him have several 40-point games, and a couple of 50-pointers.

He could load up and get a shot off faster than anyone I've ever seen. Still, I was surprised he left Kentucky after one year, and never thought he'd be this good in the NBA.

Happy to be wrong for once.

I think I'll pay the devil's advocate wet blanket for a moment. Should the fact that the Suns lost the game by double digits play no part in how we assess Booker's statistical feat? Seriously, since when do teams react to LOSING with smiley celebratory photos like these:

You know, in basketball it's really not terribly hard to get a teammate a crazy statistical night if you collectively focus on that more than actually winning the game.
