Als0 this one, which was potentially worth $1 million:

Took stones to put the rest "on account" and risk not winning another round.

They apparently changed the format because the taxes contestants had to pay on the shopping items were ridiculous.

My grandmother won some flowers or something like that off Wheel of Fortune years and years ago off some mail-in drawing or something

Wow, it sounds like you should try to be on "Jeopardy!" if you do that well. Have you ever been on it?

Our family has always watched "Jeopardy!" a lot over the years, and my dad always had a nightly, running joke about how "It's time to find out how stupid we are."

And my dad was far from stupid, and actually always liked and was interested in a lot of the general, historical, little-known and esoteric-type stuff that is often put to contestants on "Jeopardy!".

As for myself, oddly enough, I often have done better on "500 Questions" than I do with "Jeopardy!" I'm sure part of it has to do with the way the "questions" are backwardly phrased/answered on "Jeopardy!" I know that, sometimes, just figuring out what the question is quickly enough is my downfall.

I have taken the test a few times but haven't passed yet, apparently (I said apparently because they never tell you your score). But you're right, it's far harder than the show.

As Weird Al once sang, I'm only qualified for "Price is Right."

Although maybe not anymore with Drew Carey and some bearded hipster dude as a model.

They used to have male models on Sale of the Century, used to want them to get out of the fucking way so I could stare some more at Summer Bartholomew.

And Johnny Olson and Rod Roddy had the greatest gig on the Price is Right, interacting with the Murderers' Row that was the Dian-Janice-Holly-era Barker's Beauties.

If you ever want to shatter your self-confidence and be reduced to a drooling simpleton online, check out Learned League. I've never done it, but just the handful of questions I've seen over the years make me instantly throw my hands up in defeat.

Steak, more people pass the test than they can take for auditions, so not getting an audition doesn't necessarily mean you haven't passed the test. After the online test that resulted in an audition for me, I thought I had done worse than in previous years. Odds are you've passed the test but haven't won the audition lottery.

They usually were given a choice between putting the remainder "on account," which, as I recall, meant they could reserve the remainder to use if they won another puzzle, or the gift certificate. If they lost, they lost the account, so nearly everyone took the gift certificate.

Whenever I watch "Wheel," I'm always kinda surprised that there rarely is someone who just gets super-competitive. I see contestants who solve the puzzle even though there's plenty of letters and double-letters remaining on the board. I would think, seeing that the odds of getting the "Lose a Turn" or "Bankrupt" are fairly small, that they don't just keep spinning until they get the puzzle finished. They leave so much money left on the board.
