I had been wondering why they are so hell-bent on voting today. But like any good terrorist group or band of psychopaths, Republicans are weirdly obsessed with anniversary attacks.

Here is an article by noted screaming liberal and editor of the National Review, Rich Lowery.

    The Health Care Albatross

"A fundamental flaw of the Republican bill is that it will likely destabilize the already rocky individual market even further. The legislation leaves in place the core Obamacare regulations that are driving up the price of insurance, while repealing the individual mandate that is designed to force people to buy insurance anyway. Almost no one who is not directly employed by the Republican Party thinks this combination makes sense."

"Republicans accused the Democratic Congress of jamming through an Obamacare bill in eight months (this is still a rote GOP plaint about the law). They want to pass their own hugely consequential repeal-and-replace bill in four weeks."

I'm convinced, unless we deny him the opportunity, he'll say similar words before pushing the button. Or as Joe Bob would say, "Without eternal vigilance, it could happen here."

Lowry -- and he's dead-on. Ryan is trying to placate the establishment GOP with a watered-down version of the ACA while trying to get the conservative factions on board by agreeing to a full free market amendment that allows, in theory, custom insurance plans, but will, in effect, make high-risk insurance even costlier for those who need it/can't afford it. Ryan is trying to pass a bill that contradicts itself.

That TIME interview is 100 different kinds of embarrassing:

9 bonkers things Donald Trump said in his new exclusive interview with Time

Trump thinks it’s okay to repeat a false claim as long as he is accurately stating the fact that someone else made the false claim. He thinks it’s okay to say something false as long as it later turns out that something vaguely similar is true. And he appears to think it’s okay to just straight-up lie and then keep lying for no reason.
