Well, as you know, building an actual D-1 arena, even a mid-size 8-12,000-seater, is gonna run you $100 mil easy these days. That's a chunk of cash (although GU isn't exactly in the breadlines). Probably in the immediate term it makes sense to keep renting.

They just completed a new complex of some sort -- basketball and other sports. Have to wonder if that takes up available space. Don't know.

Maybe. If he has intel that suggests, for example, that Chris Mack is about to leave Xavier, he'll be fine. If not, I fear he'll be stuck at. Winthrop. Any AD will take notice of this and be wary.

I love what I do for a living and it has provided a good living for 10 of the last 20 years I've been in the industry but, damn, I see these salaries and I should have gone into coaching college basketball.

Should have done the team manager route in college and gone from there.

I hear ya. At the time, taking a JUCO track scholarship seemed like the financially sensible thing to do, but maybe going wherever they would have let me walk on to the basketball team would have been a good route to coaching.
