This is exactly the kind of gridlock we want. A few fringe conservatives who would just prefer that all the poors just die. A bunch of moderates who fear losing their seats. Democrats holding their ground. Status quo, being preferable to all other options presented, remains. Quite a perfect scenario, if you ask me.
