I was thinking more to make it believable for him to beat either Goldberg or Lesnar, with the way they've built both of them up as unstoppable monsters. He'd have to cash in against one of them in a weakened state. Storylines are never a big issue.

Or they have Lesnar be weaker after getting beaten up by Goldberg at WM, which gets sold by Heyman and the announcers, then Balor come out on Monday night (which is when a lot of storyline stuff happens), get his rematch, and win. Then Brock goes away for the summer, and Balor defends against Owens, who still is owed his rematch.

To borrow a phrase from Duane Thomas, if Wrestlemania is the ultimate thrill ride, why will they have it next year?

Pre-show has started. Aries vs. Neville, potentially the match of the night, is about to go on now.

Battle Royal up second. Strowman eliminates Big Show, and then for the first time in wrestling history the "everybody gang up and get rid of the big guy" tactic actually works to get rid of Strowman.

And the battle royal winner is ... Mojo Rawley?
    That was a little random.

Ambrose-Corbin for the Intercontinental title shuttled off to the pre-show. The ghost of Randy Savage weeps.

I might have missed one, but this is either the third or fourth match on the pre-show -- all of them matches that got a good bit of hype beforehand -- and it's had the flow of a regular TV show. So why didn't they just say the show started at 5 p.m. EST instead of 7?

Shane McMahon just tried a shooting star press.
    In 2017.
    Holy shit.

I know there are always those that complain about Shane getting a spot on WM, but the guy always puts on a good performance.

Holy shit. Now that's a surprise!
And in a ladder match, to boot. To quote Jim Ross, business is about to pick up.

    HARDY BOYZ!

I knew there might be a possibility, but that was a great way to bring them in.
