    I hope this isn't one of those "been dead for years" things - I honestly thought he died a while back

    Rickles had the odd genius of being able to make people laugh hysterically without actually being that funny. An icon of '60s TV, RIP.

    I always wanted to see his act in Vegas when I used to go out there. Never did. Always promised myself I would next time.

    His stories about working with Sinatra were hysterical. He was the only guy who could get away with telling Frank to shut up because he made Ol' Blue Eyes laugh so much.

    NHL should hold a moment of silence honoring his role in immortalizing hockey pucks.
