It would be kind of difficult to fire your son-in-law and keep his wife in a White House job even if the President in that situation was way more diplomatic than Trump.

One is going to be assisting in taking care of your affairs when you're old and feeble.
The other is some fat, old drunk you met out campaigning.

Well, foreign manufacturers have quickly learned how to manipulate Trump into giving them favorable press and publicity. It's the same old crap, which he has done so often by now that it passes all but unnoticed.

“We’ve been working on this Camry now for over three years, so this is not something that’s just brand new and picked up most recently,” James said in an interview Monday on Bloomberg Television."
