Thanks. I'm not comic addicted. My mistake.

I watched E1 and 2 last year when it started but it just didn't catch me.

Here is the Thor: Ragnarok trailer, which does a great job of establishing the tone and the threat level of the villain, Hela.

Had a bit of a Guardians of the Galaxy feel to it. Might end up being the best of the Thor movies.

I've been saying for years that the only thing the Marvel movies were missing was Jeff Goldblum.

I agree that the tone is similar. I've read interviews suggesting that they wanted to play up the humor in this one.

That was an amazing teaser trailer. I'm very excited for Thor to finally have a fun, kick-ass film. I've liked the two prior, but this looks good. Real good. A lot of stories seemed to be crammed in and I hope Marvel can make it work.

Had to watch it again. And again. Wow. The visuals. Colors. Just wow. Yes. Very Guardians feel to it, but I'm OK with it. Hot damn!

I like Thor as a character and Chris Hemsworth is perfect in the role, but I haven't been blown away by either solo film. He has worked so much better in the Avengers films than the solo films. Hopefully this is better, but I'm not familiar with the villain, so I'm hoping that doesn't kill the movie for me.

The one thing that worries me is that they cut his hair. Seem silly, but I hate when comic book movies don't deliver enough of the superhero being themselves (Renner is probably the only person more pissed about Marvel's treatment of Hawkeye in "The Avengers" than me). The first Thor was guilty of that, not letting him "be" Thor enough. I'm hoping this isn't the case with the new film.

The Thor solo films haven't been great. I'm hoping they are making big enough changes for this one to work better.

They may be cutting the hair, but they are giving him a helmet that fits the comic book look a little better. The movies have never been completely true to the comics. For one thing, Thor was always clean shaven in the books. How many MCU characters are completely true to the look in the comics? They went with the beard because they thought it looked better and the look of the character has never been the problem in the movies.

One thing to keep in mind with the MCU is they use a lot in terms of look and story from the Ultimate Marvel books before they went completely off the rails. The MCU Hawkeye takes some elements from the Ultimate books, specifically the part about him being married with kids. A Nick Fury that looks like Samuel Jackson came from the Ultimate line, as did the Triskelion.

I'm not worried about the look per se (and I like that they're giving him the helmet). I'm worried that cutting his hair and destroying Mjolnir signals that Thor is going to be somewhat "mortal," for lack of a better word, for a significant chunk of the film. I hate when superheroes lose their abilities in movies. I don't want to see Superman get beat up in a diner (or drinking his face off), I don't want to see Spider Man falling off walls, I don't want to see Professor X unable to read people's minds.

I'm sure there are probably a few exceptions where I've enjoyed stories of superheroes who lost their powers, but generally, I go to the movies to see the superheroes be super, not to see them be human. Those kinds of stories are more compelling in the books than they are in a 2-hour film where the hero only has his powers for about 25 minutes.

As for Hawkeye, I was specifically referring to Renner being pissed that he signed on to play one character and that character was almost immediately changed to become a villain for the majority of the film.
