If you phrase it that way, then technically both Jake Arrieta and I have trouble pitching past the fifth inning. Same problem, just a question of magnitude.

You're right that they tend to fall on geographical lines (although not always; Ontario had an NDP government) and that they have much more in common with each other than with the Conservatives. But the NDP are more openly socialist than the Liberals. The first head of the NDP, Saint Tommy Douglas, was the founder of universal health care, for example. Because Canada is Canada and the US is the US, I'd say that the Liberals fall to the left of American Democrats, but the NDP are farther left. Bernie Sanders would have run for the NDP. Hillary Clinton would be a Liberal.

One is "more openly socialist" is how you get to describing the other as centrist?

This happens in my fantasy baseball leagues all the time. Someone will ask for A. Romine or just list a guy's last name expecting everyone to know who it is.

Unless Lena Dunham posts here, I really don't think, out of the hundreds of posters here, that anybody was all that fired up for a Hillary presidency. Most of us just disliked her less than the pussy-grabber.

There is a part of me that gets some perverse satisfaction out of knowing that every morning Hillary Clinton wakes up and realizes, "Godfuckingdammit, I really lost! To that . . . that THING!"

That Atlantic story was OK with some good moments but overall too wordy and cliché with the Greek tragedy references.
