Pardon me if somebody posted this part as well, but apparently Marte tested positive in spring training. He lost his appeal today.

As Starling Marte exits after PED bust, Pirates, McCutchen aim to salvage '17

Another major difference between this case and Braun's. MLB allowed Braun's positive test result to leak rather than fulfill its obligation to keep things quiet until the appeal process played out. Maybe MLB has gotten better at protecting this information, or perhaps it is just trying now.

That certainly explains why he had the apology ready to go so quickly.

Nothing going on in Seattle through 7 ...

Miami's Chen is already at 100 pitches. Two walks and a hit batter, but no you-know-whats.

Chen pulled after seven, Ziegler continues nothing in eighth.

Is there a more "who gives a shit?" concept in sports than "combined no-hitter?"

Mitch Haniger doubles with one out in the bottom of the ninth. Your front page is intact.

You can safely run a one-paragraph summary. Mitch Hanniger comes through with a one-out double for the M's.

HanSen, are you really the sports editor in my shop, sitting a few desks away from me??? ;)

That is certainly a possible explanation.
