Because you made reference to the Trump administration doing "the smart thing" and sticking with the deal. You stick with the deal if it's achieving the goals you had when you entered into it. You don't stick with the deal just because the objectives specified in the deal are being met. And the objectives being met don't mean that the deal was a good one. Put another way: The objectives being met might mean something ... or absolutely nothing. If I come up with a plan to lose some weight and improve my cholesterol numbers, and that plan specifies that I'll double my per-week doughnut and chicken wing consumption, it's pretty fucking stupid to argue that I should stick with that plan just because I'm meeting those doughnut/chicken wing numbers. If one of my diet's objectives is that I'll watch no BBW porn, and I go from watching no BBW porn to watching no BBW porn, it's a great plan. After all, the objectives are being met!
