Shelby cuts against @Michael_ Gee's core philosophy, to wit: The wrong kind of white people shouldn't have civil rights.

Come on. You're not wrong about presidents having the reality of their job reverse campaign rhetoric, but the press release was correlating quantity of EOs with quality leadership. Perhaps he could explain the evolved position but I'm sure he'd deny or deflect any question regarding his earlier opposition of them.

    Fair enough.

But, it's funny. I've seen congress criticized for the paucity of legislation passed compared to previous congresses.

Seen it here, with no discussion of quality, and no mention of how many of the laws passed were to rename post offices.

So, if everyone's on board with not judging success based on the quantity of EOs issued, and laws passed, I'm on board too.

I have no idea what this means.

Sounds good to me. I think complaining about inaction on specific issues (on either side) is perfectly valid, but grumbling because of a "do-nothing" congress is a shallow, stupid argument.
