    Yep - they're cutting reporters, not personalities. (Although Steak is correct that Bowden fits that mold in spirit, if not by the strictest definition.) They should rebrand as Sports TMZ at this point.

    I think you are confusing open minded, educated, cultured and civilized, with politically liberal. Now its an easy confusion because many people who profess to be conservative are actually narrow minded, under educated, anti-culture and lack civility. Being politically conservative used to mean the maintenance of the status quo. Country club and Wall St establishment types. Conservative no longer means that. In fact, its the opposite, regression to the belief of a previous time, mostly imaginary or mythologized, somewhere about 1956-8. Conservative today is more thoughtlessly reactionary. There are issues they screech about which would have resonance with middle America if they would only try reason and rationality.

    The general national media isnt politically liberal, they are socially open minded. Educated and civilized are now pejoratives.

    The Visigoths have sacked America, from within.
