He's going to break a wine bottle over your head, then throw an ice bucket at your waiter.

The tax proposal is DOA. The announcement this morning is a PR play to fool his idiot base with 100 days coming fast.

Donald Trump is doing more to advance the cause of American socialism than a Bernie Sanders-Eugene Debs love child could dream about.

Here's where I laugh at Der Donald's supposed business acumen.

Words like "jobs" and "working" and "standard" are all spelled correctly. They even correctly spelled "Simplification"!

Don't know about his idiot base, because this shit isn't geared toward them.

But there is no doubt that he went to Cohen and Mnuchin and told them to rush something out there before Friday. It doesn't matter to Trump that there is little there, because all he cares about is a headline.

How do you propose paying for necessities without some taxes?

He's talking about income tax. Plenty of other taxes out there.

Per pool reports, Trump spent about 15 whole minutes with the Senate for the North Korea briefing.

Before 1913 when they changed the Constitution and opened the barn door to the mess we now live with by introducing a Federal income tax, they met necessities with tarriffs. In this day and age, I'd look more toward consumption taxes as making the most sense. Of course, we have $4 trillion Federal budgets and growing in the bizarro world we have created for ourselves. We do not have $4 trillion worth of "necessities." Personally, I'd focus first on tackling the out-of-control spending. It is nearly impossible, because once you let the corruption in, it is impossible to step backward. But that is what we actually need. As long as we are running up more and more debt as we are, it is irresponsible to cut what revenues we do bring in before making the much harder choices -- the ones they won't deal wiht. So I'd first really get it down to "necessities" . ... and then treat everyone to dessert (slashing taxes) when it isn't guaranteed to blow out our debt further.

If you believe we're so screwed by the debt, why cut at all? At this point isn't it better to just ride this bus right over the cliff?

Are the economic and political consequences of ...

    1) Dismantling the only military capable of global projection of power
    2) Taking apart our social safety net
    3) Laying off millions of Americans whose paychecks derive from Government

... any better than just riding the debt wave until it crashes?

Either way, we're talking about global economic upheaval.
