Pat Mahomes is the first quarterback the Chiefs have drafted in the first round since Todd Blackledge in 1983, and only the fourth ever.
The last time the Chiefs had a QB they drafted lead the team in passing was Steve Fuller (one of the other three first-rounders) in 1980.

Yes he did. Not drafted by the Chiefs, though. Drafted and later cut by the Dolphins in 1978, and then signed with the Chiefs and played his entire career with them.

 

Can we just admit that judging a QB on record alone is simplistic, especially a college record?

 

Watching your team trade up to draft Mitch Trubisky at No. 2 overall is like fucking a 300-pound woman to break a slump and getting her pregnant.
There's a momentary thrill, she might be nice enough and even a good lay, but now you're stuck with them in your life for the foreseeable future while your friends are all dating models.

 

The only good quarterback the Chiefs have ever drafted was Roger Staubach, and that was in the AFL days, so he never signed with KC. Maybe that changed today?
