I guess with Mixon, it's a question of how you judge the word "fairly." Does he deserve the scorn and criticism? Absolutely. Is he being viewed on par with others who have done the same thing? It isn't like he's the first player drafted into the NFL with a domestic assault on their record. I just find the situation curious. Some team would have drafted him - at what point would it have been ok?

I would have been fine with me if he was never drafted. The Bengals are an appropriate home bc their fans are more less accustomed to these situations. Some teams never would have drafted him -- thinking the Giants, Packers, probably Steelers.

Does anyone think the league is "suddenly getting tough" on those who are violent toward women?

I don't watch the NFL draft - I mean, good god, is there a more boring, overhyped sporting "event?" - but just catching up now on who the Giants picked and I'm left scratching my head. They got a great talent in Engram at TE, but with their remaining five picks they didn't fill any of their biggest needs with playmakers. They didn't select a single linebacker, which has been a glaring need pretty much since Antonio Pierce retired, and they waited until the sixth round to take an offensive tackle, even though Manning was getting murdered from the blindside in nearly every game last season. WTH?

    It wasn't domestic abuse.

Yep. Also no running game. Eli will have 4 TDs one week, 4 INTs the next.

  10. The 2012 Draft .. because there's NO way to grade a draft that's 2 days old. So let's look at one 5 years old and see who did what, compared to the Hot Take grades they got in 2012.

2012 NFL Draft Grades: Full Draft Results Report Card

Notables: Seahawks (Irvin, Wagner, Wilson) got a D.
    Steelers got an A and it's more of a C- / D+ class.
Buffalo, Green Bay and Detroit both got A+ and whiffed badly.
Cleveland got a B (Richardson and Weedon, etc) ... swing and a miss.
Carolina for a B (Kuechly and Norman) and should be an A.

When this fresh take of the Niners as nouveau geniuses is proved to be idiocy of the highest order, I wonder how many people will return to admit they were wrong and take a bite of the crap sandwich.

PK just said if he was part of a team that drafted Mixon, he would hire Ray Rice and have him be a mentor.
