And using the guy from Silicon Valley wasn't a great choice. Does that show really have enough of a Q rating for the neurotic dude from that show can pitch for Verizon?

The best day of my life is NOT going to include staying at a Best Western hotel.

The Uber workin/chillin commercial shows the driver switching something on his phone. In the shot the radio is tuned to 109.3 MHz. You can't go past 107.9. They couldn't go with a real radio station or if they were worried about inadvertent endorsements they couldn't have left it off? Someone superimposed the radio station they could have just left it off ...

The Volkswagen ad where the couple wears out the struts on their cars by repeatedly boinking in said VW, which leads to more children, which leads to bigger VWs.

No problem with the ad itself. Kind of clever actually.

    It's that insipid song.

1st grade lyrics paired with a silly melody that remains stuck in your cranium for hours after hearing it, replaying itself over and over in your head.

"Let me tell you 'bout the birds and the bees...."

I apologize in advance for making you suffer along with me.

How badly do you want to whisper in the ear of the car salesman that the child the couple is holding was conceived in the back of the car he is more than happy to take in trade just to see the look on his face?

Has anybody mentioned the V-8 commercials where they ask "What's the best way to get two servings of vegetables a day?" and then they show a race and V-8 is the FASTEST way to drink those veggies, but is it the best way?

Ribs on a burger sound like a bad idea, and Hardees/Carl's Jr. annoying commercials make them even less appetizing.

This Hyundai hybrid ad can fuck right off.

I'm 50/50 on that one. Yes, the song is a brainworm, but I think it's clever that the actors singing about wanting a hybrid are the same one driving one in the second spot.

I'm more annoyed by the "take Grandpa's ashes across the country" VW ad.

I realize Paul Simon probably needed some cash (or a new car), but damn, "America" is one of their best songs. A personal favorite of mine for many reasons, now used to sell VW's latest SUV.

"I've got Grandpa's ashes here in my bag ..."

    Thumbs down.

Virgin territory - has there been another S&G song used in a commercial?

But if I want to make the room get real dusty (if it ever shows up again on YT), I use the Bowie version from The Concert for America.
