That's one horrible event. Seems like the prosecutor didn't do enough to get a higher bail or deny bail. However, every person caught with a gun shouldn't be denied bail. It's that pesky Constitution getting in the way.

Except that various religions have their holy day on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

If we're going to have a single Election Day, that won't work.

I don't think I've ever refrained from voting on a ballot measure, at least that I can remember.
But I think it's a valid point. If you and I plus some third hypothetical person legal submit ballots in the June election, that means three voters have weighed in.
If you voted for Ballot Measure A and I voted against it, you have not met you 50% burden to pass it. Voter C submitted a legal ballot but left that ballot measure blank.
The Measure received 1 vote out of three ballots cast. Does not pass.

    I'd be down with that.

The "pastor" isn't particularly some kind of "modern Rasputin," just another set of store-bought tits that bounced in front of Fucko's eyes and sent his brain into Viagra meltdown.

Gotta give it a month, like creating a foolproof plan to defeat ISIS.

    One horrible event?

A Tribune analysis of five years of booking data at Cook County Jail found that at least 1 in 10 of those who were arrested and bonded out on gun charges committed serious crimes within a year — then bonded out of jail yet again. The vast majority of suspects were arrested on new gun charges.

The analysis also found that gang members facing felony gun charges often had little problem coming up with the cash to get out of jail, while nonviolent thieves and others languished behind bars, unable to post much lower bonds.

And prosecutors rarely ask where the money came from. By contrast, in major drug cases, they routinely request hearings to determine the source of bail money.

A Tribune review of 50 gun cases from 2012 through 2016 with the highest bond amounts uncovered four instances in which tens of thousands of dollars were posted by people who had recently filed for bankruptcy, and one instance in which a relative said $20,000 in bond money came from recent casino winnings.

Do we really want a slacktivist veto?

They're people who are casting legal ballots. I don't think they're slackers.
If you cannot get 50% or 66% of ballots cast, your not meeting your burden. The populace either does not support the measure or does not think it is important.
But you're still counting cast ballots.

I call for Universal gun possession. Its a guaranteed Constitutional Right. Everyone should be to carry a firearm in the same way everyone is entitled to free speech and freedom of religion. The only qualification being time, place and manner restrictions of where guns can be possessed.
