Was there a World Series at the L.A. Coliseum? I have to think the ballpark dimensions would have been unusual.

Dammit. Knew I was going to forget one. Both of those are correct, but there's also one more.

    EDIT: Cisforkoke got it.
The four are the Metrodome, Joe Robbie, the LA Coliseum, and Jack Murphy/Qualcomm

250 down the left field line (with a 40-foot high screen) and 440 to right center. Good story on it here:

Never could understand why they didn't just configure the field similar to what the Polo Grounds was, where you had short foul poles but then the dimensions took off in a hurry.

Here's another picture. Maybe they were trying to optimize it for the seating. It looks like they might have been able to make it a bit more centered and even things out, but then you'd have even more people sitting 200 feet behind the outfield fence. You'd also wind up with about three acres of foul territory.

The stadium seats have changed little in the almost 70 years from this photo. I walked around what is in the picture the upper right field seats, in December during a Rams game. You just can't imagine how far you are from the outfield, let alone home plate.

The Polo Grounds was built for baseball. There were abutments in right and left fields they could tuck the outfield corners behins.

For that game, the left field foul pole was just 201 feet away instead of 250, because more seats had been added through the years. Even funnier, looking at the pic, there are five infielders and no left fielder. No need for one, with that Little League dimension.
