Unfortunately, that lack of capability/willingness is exactly what got them into leadership positions in the first place.

The question is, as always, get what done? Until there are specifics, there's nothing even to argue about, let alone compromise on.

If Trump wants to troll SNL, he should fire Spicer 30 minutes before the episode starts tonight.

People who spend all their time wishing for bipartisanship are like they people who want "good news" in the paper. Their choices contradict their words.

Democrats aren't being uncooperative because Trump is a "Republican."

They're being uncooperative because Trump is a dangerous, clueless moron.

The Democrats would still not be and ought not to be cooperating with a President Cruz or Rubio's agenda either. Obamacare repeal and cutting Medicare, SNAP and Social Security would still be on the table. So would rollback of financial and environmental regulations. They couldn't compromise on those things and still be Democrats.

    1. The concern is that Trump, through his financial dealings, may have conflicts of interest when it comes dealing with Russia, and that any interference by the Russians in the election may be a quid pro quo in which, as president, Trump shows favortism, either financially, geopolitically, or both, to the Russians. I agree, that Russia's role, while disturbing, shouldn't have had that much of an influence if the voters had been paying attention to the real issues that affect their everyday lives. Trump could, of course, reassure the American public of any possibility of conflicts of interest if he wasn't acting so secretive, especially with his refusal to release his tax returns.

    2. We would hate a President Pence for his political work, but at least, we would feel that we had an adult in the Oval Office.

Could it be -- and I'm just spitballing here -- that maybe he didn't want the public option? My know you have great mental powers, but it's possible your mind-reading ability's the least of them.

At other times he talked as if he thought the public option would be a Great Leap Forward. Certainly a large number of his supporters thought so. (And still do.)

But he gave it up before he even got to the table, because he wanted to impress republicans with his agreeable nature.

Easy thing to say when your party is the one in control, especially after it was your party that spent the last eight years doing the exact opposite of what you are proposing.

Agree or not, this guy's rant at Republican Rep. Tom MacArthur's town hall is worth a listen.
